تمنغكونغ جوهر هو منصب ملايوي قديم في سلطنة جوهر، بدأ كأحد أعضاء مجلس «أرانغ كايا» الذي أنشأه السلطان عبد الجليل شاه الثالث نفسه لأول مرة. وعيَّن أول تمنغكونغ في 1757 وهو تمنغكونغ عبد الجمال. يُكلَّف تمنغكونغ جوهر بمهمة الحفاظ على أمن السلطان وحماية الدولة وممارسة السيطرة على جميع أراضي سلطنة جوهر. وله السيطرة الإقليمية من قبل سلطان جوهر وسنغافورة كممثل لسلطان جوهر-رياو، كما كان أمين خزانة فهغ، وأُضيفت إلى صلاحيته لاحقًا صلاحيات منح تمنغكونغ موار أيضًا.

The Temenggong of Johor is one of the members of the Orang Kaya Council first established by Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah himself. The first Temenggong being appointed in 1757 was Temenggong Abdul Jamal. The Temenggong of Johor was given the task of controlling the security of the Sultan and safeguarding the State and exercising control over all the territories of the Johor Empire. The descendants of Temenggong would later found the new Sultanate on the mainland of Johor with the first Temenggong being Daeng Ibrahim.

The descendants of Temenggong would later found the new Sultanate on the mainland of Johor with the first Temenggong being Daeng Ibrahim.
