Het Spui is een straat (gedeeltelijk plein) in de binnenstad van Amsterdam die zich uitstrekt tussen het Rokin en het Singel. Halverwege wordt het Spui gekruist door de Kalverstraat. Iets ten noorden van het Singel komen de Spuistraat en de Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal samen.

The Spui was originally a body of water that formed the southern limit of the city until the 1420s, when the Singel canal was dug as an outer moat around the city. A spui is a lockable water discharge. The word is related to the Dutch verbs spuiten and spuwen, cognates of the English word spewing. Spui could therefore be translated as Spew. In 1882 the Spui was filled in and became the square that we know today. In 1996 the square was renovated and is now largely car-free.

Das Hofje betritt man von der Spui aus, wo auch die Oude Lutherse Kerk („Alte lutherische Kirche“) von 1630 und das von 1784 stehen. La sculpture Het Lieverdje de , réalisée en 1960 s'y trouve également. C'est autour de cette œuvre d'art que Robert Jasper Grootveld, initiateur du mouvement Provo et ses partisans se retrouvaient à l'occasion de happenings. La place est également connue pour ses librairies, et plus particulièrement pour la librairie universitaire Athenaeum Boekhandel, ainsi que deux librairies spécialisées dans les ouvrages en anglais. Le vendredi, un marché aux livres s'y tient tandis qu'un marché d'art y est organisé le dimanche entre mars et décembre.

Tram lines 1 and 2 stop at Spui on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and tram lines 4, 14 and 24 and stop at the southern entrance of the Rokin metro station located just across Spui.
