صلاح الحمداني، شاعر وكاتب وممثل ومخرج مسرحي عراقي. ولد في بغداد، محلة الفضل العزة، في الأول من تموز عام 1951. قضى أربعة أعوام في الجيش العراقي من 1969 إلى 1973.ترك العراق لأسباب سياسية بعد أن أمضى أشهر من شبابه في دهاليز المعتقلات وإسطبلات تعذيب المناهضين لنظام صدام، وهو اليوم منفي ومقيم في فرنسا منذ عام 1975. بدأ كتابة الشعر في السجن وهو لم يبلغ من العمر سوى 20 عاما.قام بزيارة لعائلته عام 2004 وذلك بعد سقوط نظان صدام حسين في العراق أي بعد 30 عاما من المنفى.وفي عام 2008 أنتجت «إمانويل لاغرانج» فيلما وثائقيا عن صلاح الحمداني، حمل عنوان: «بغداد باريس، سيرة شاعر».

Salah Al-Hamdani (Arabic: صلاح الحمداني), born in 1951 in Baghdad, is an Iraqi poet, actor, and playwright. Imprisoned as a political dissident in the 1970s, he began writing in prison. Some of his writing was published in clandestine journals. He has continued to write, in Arabic and in French, since moving to France, where he been living for three decades. In his work, Al-Hamdani opposed Saddam Hussein's government, and subsequently the United States-led Occupation of Iraq. He is particularly known in France for his 2003 poem "Baghdad Mon Amour" ("Baghdad My Beloved").
