Judah ben Bathyra or simply Judah Bathyra (also Beseira, Hebrew: יהודה בן בתירא) was an eminent tanna. The Mishnah quotes 17 laws by R. Judah, and the Baraita about 40; he was also a prolific aggadist. He was a member of the Bnei Bathyra family.

Judah ben Bathyra I ou simplement Judah Bathyra (hébreu : רבי יהודה בן בתירא Rabbi Yehouda ben Bateira) était un éminent docteur de la Mishna ayant vécu au Ier siècle ayant une activité à Nisibe, qui est florissant au moment de la destruction du Temple de Jérusalem (70). Depuis le règne d'Izatès II, le territoire de Nisibe appartenait à l'Adiabène. Il ne faut pas le confondre avec Judah ben Bathyra II, florissant au IIe siècle à Nisibe. Probablement, l'un de ses descendants, peut-être son petit-fils.

Judah ben Bathyra o semplicemente Judah Bathyra (anche Beseira, ebraico: יהודה בן בתירא) (Nisibis, I secolo) è un rabbino ebreo antico, rinomato saggio Tanna della prima generazione (40 - 80 e.v.). Vissuto prima della distruzione del tempio di Gerusalemme, dato che si registra un suo fatto, quando impedì ad un pagano a Gerusalemme dal consumare l'offerta pasquale. Dopodiché ricevette il messaggio laudatorio: "Salute a te, Rabbi Judah ben Bathyra! Tu vivi a Nisibis, ma la tua rete si stende a Gerusalemme." Dato che Rabbi Judah non era presente alla Pesach di Gerusalemme, si deve concludere che fosse avanti negli anni, sebbene come cittadino straniero non fosse tenuto ad ottemperare la legge che richiedeva di celebrare la Pasqua a Gerusalemme.
