Il Partito del Jharkhand (attualmente Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, un tempo Jharkhand Party, JKP) è un partito politico indiano che si batte per i diritti delle popolazioni tribali del Bihar. Il partito nacque negli anni cinquanta e fu rinnovato intorno al 1980 cambiando anche il nome ma con un programma molto simile a quello vecchio. Il suo massimo successo lo ha ottenuto intorno al 1990 con l'elezione di alcuni rappresentanti alla Lok Sabha ma in seguito i suoi consensi sono diminuiti.

In 1936,Jaipal Singh Munda approached by leaders to lead the Organization as President.Jaipal Singh Munda Changed the name of Chhotanagpur Unnati Samaj to Akhil Bhartiya Adivasi Mahasabha in 1939. Singh was became president of Adivasi Mahasabha. In 1940 at Ramgarh session of Congress, he discussed with Subash Chandra Bose the need to form separate state Jharkhand. Subash Chandra Bose replied that such request will affect the freedom struggle.[14] After the independence of India, the Adivasi Mahasabha re-emerged as Jharkhand Party and it accommodated non-tribal people to achieve long-term goals. He is popularly known as "Marang Gomke (meaning Great Leader) by the Adivasis of Chhotanagpur.[15][16] Jharkhand Party participated in Election in 1952,1957,1962 and won 34 seats, 30 Seats ,20 Seats respectively in Bihar legislative assembly.More than 15 Years Jharkand Party was only major opposition political party in Bihar legislative Assembly against Indian National Congress. In 1955, Jharkhand Party submitted a memorandum for creation of a separate state Jharkhand consisting of the tribal area of South Bihar to States Reorganization Commission but the demand was not conceded because the region had many languages and had no link language, Hindustani was majority language, tribal were in minority and there would be adverse effects of economy of state after separation.[17][18]
