Moore was the Conservative Member of Parliament from 2000 to 2015, representing Port Moody—Coquitlam—Port Coquitlam (2000-2004) and then Port Moody—Westwood—Port Coquitlam (2004-2015). He also served as Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages and as the Secretary of State for Official Languages, Pacific Gateway and the Vancouver-Whistler Olympics before becoming Industry Minister.
