En el censo de 2006, 365.147 personas declararon tener nacionalidad griega, ya sea de forma exclusiva o en combinación con otro grupo étnico. El censo de 2006 registró 125.849 personas de nacionalidad griega nacidas en Grecia y 21.149 en Chipre, aunque no se sabe cuántos de estos últimos son greco-chipriotas.
