The Election Commission of Pakistan (Urdu: انتخابی ماموریہ پاکستان; ECP) is an independent, autonomous, permanent and constitutionally established federal body responsible for organizing and conducting elections to the national parliament, provincial legislatures, local governments, and the office of President of Pakistan, as well as the delimitation of constituencies and preparation of electoral rolls. The Election Commission was formed on 23 March 1956 and has been restructured and reformed several times throughout the history of Pakistan. The Chief Election Commissioner and four retired judges of the High Courts, each from one of the four provinces (Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) of the country, form the five-member panel of the Election Commission. The current Chief Election Commissioner is Sikandar Sultan Raja. The General Elections 2018 were performed under the Elections Act 2017, which was passed by the National Assembly on 2 October 2017. ECPs bureaucracy is headed by Federal Secretary ECP (BPS-22) officer who manages the ECP Secretariat.

La commission électorale permanente est chargée d'organiser, de diriger les élections, de prendre les dispositions nécessaires pour assurer qu'elles se déroulent honnêtement, justement, équitablement, conformément à la loi et de prendre des mesures pour lutter contre la corruption. La commission est responsable du processus électoral pour les élections des deux assemblées parlementaires nationales, des assemblées provinciales et les élections locales, que cela soit spécifié ou non par la loi. La commission est mise en place par le président de la république. Elle est constituée d'un commissaire en chef des élections issu de la Cour suprême et nommé par le Premier ministre ainsi que de quatre membres souvent juges des Hautes cours de justice, nommés par le président. Toutes ces nominations sont faites en conformité avec les choix d'un comité parlementaire paritaire.
