It is headed by a Detective Chief Superintendent and four Detective Superintendents, reporting to the Assistant Commissioner in charge of the Garda National Support Services. Detective Chief Superintendent Michael O'Sullivan is the current head of the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.
