Sir David Charles Miller Yardley (4 June 1929 – 3 June 2014) was a British legal scholar and public servant. Although a barrister, Yardley spent his legal career in academia. From 1953 to 1974, he taught jurisprudence at the University of Oxford, where he was a fellow of St Edmund Hall, Oxford. He then held chairs at the University of Birmingham, Oxford Polytechnic, and the University College at Buckingham. He then served as chair of the Commission for Local Administration in England from 1982 to 1994, for which he was knighted. rdf:langString
