Cynfarch Oer (ou Cunomarcus ou Cynfarch ap Meirchion) était un roi de Rheged, au VIe siècle vers 530-560. On sait peu de choses sur lui. Il serait le fils de Meirchion Gul (vers 500-530) et père du roi Urien de Rheged (vers 560-590). Sa lignée est connue sous le nom de « Cynferchyn » : Selon le professeur H.M. Chadwick, Senyllt ap Dingat roi de Galloway était exilé dans l'île de Man vers 550, et suggère que Cynfarch était son ennemi. D'où le nom « Rheged » à près de Stranraer et les contes de (ou Cun-mark ap Meirchion) dans la même région.

Cynfarch Oer ('Cynfarch the Dismal', also known as Cunomarcus or Cynfarch ap Meirchion) was probably a 6th-century king of the Sub-Roman realm of Rheged, believed to be located in north-west England and south-west Scotland. Next to nothing is known about Cynfarch. He appears in the Old Welsh pedigrees of the Brythonic 'Men of the North' as the son of the equally obscure Meirchion Gul (Marcianus the Lean) and father of the better documented Urien Rheged. The epithet "Oer" is literally translated as 'cold', but may be understood in unflattering terms as 'Cynfarch the unwelcoming'. Cynfach was however, well remembered by his own descendents who were referred to as the 'Cynferchyn' in his honour.
