Chester Rows are a set of structures in each of the four main streets of Chester, in the United Kingdom, consisting of a series of covered walkways on the first floor behind which are entrances to shops and other premises. At street level is another set of shops and other premises, many of which are entered by going down a few steps.

The Rows (del inglés casas adosadas) consisten en una serie de galerías cubiertas de origen medieval características de los edificios de las cuatro calles principales del centro de la ciudad de Chester, en Inglaterra. Se componen de dos niveles de tiendas y locales. Mientras que el primer piso es cubierto y se accede a través de diferentes escaleras que lo comunican con la calle, el nivel inferior da a la misma calle y en muchos casos es necesario bajar unos escalones. Chester Rows are a set of structures in each of the four main streets of Chester, in the United Kingdom, consisting of a series of covered walkways on the first floor behind which are entrances to shops and other premises. At street level is another set of shops and other premises, many of which are entered by going down a few steps. Dating from the medieval era, the Rows may have been built on top of rubble remaining from the ruins of Roman buildings, but their origin is still subject to speculation. In some places the continuity of the Rows has been blocked by enclosure or by new buildings, but in others modern buildings have retained the Rows in their designs. Undercrofts or "crypts" were constructed beneath the buildings in the Rows. The undercrofts are made from stone while most of the buildings in the Rows are timber. Today about 20 of the stone undercrofts still exist, but at the level of the Rows very little medieval fabric remains. Many of the buildings containing portions of the Rows are listed and some are recorded in the English Heritage Archive. The premises on the street and Row levels are used for a variety of purposes; most are shops, but there are also offices, restaurants, cafés, and meeting rooms. Chester Rows are one of the city's main tourist attractions.

El origen de las Rows se remonta a la Edad Media cuando fueron construidas sobre las ruinas romanas de los edificios de la antigua Deva Victrix. La parte inferior y las criptas estaban construidas en piedra y la superior de madera. Actualmente, se conservan alrededor de 20 sótanos de piedra, pero no así han perdurado las galerías medievales ya que gran mayoría son fruto de remodelaciones llevadas a cabo en el siglo XIX. En cualquier caso y aunque en algunos tramos la continuidad de las Rows se ve interrumpida por edificios modernos, en gran parte de su trazado se conserva el diseño original. El 7 de julio de 2010 las Rows fueron propuestas como candidatas a convertirse en Patrimonio de la Humanidad por el Departamento para la Cultura, Medios de Comunicación y Deporte del Reino Unido.
