تُعدّ عقوبة الإعدام في السودان قانونية بموجب المادة 27 من القانون الجنائي السوداني الصادر عام 1991. يستندُ القانون السوداني بنوده من الشريعة الإسلامية التي تنص على عقوبة الإعدام والعقوبات البدنية -مثل البتر- في حقّ كل من يرتكب «أخطاءا لا تُغتفر». لكن وبالرغم من ذلك فمعدلات تنفيذ هذه العقوبة تبقى منخفضة نوعًا ما في دولة السودان حيث احتلت المرتبة الثامنة في عام 2014 بالمقارنة مع البلدان الأخرى التي لا تزال مستمرة في ممارسة هذه العقوبة.

Capital punishment in Sudan is legal under Article 27 of the Sudanese Criminal Act 1991. The Act is based on Sharia law which prescribes both the death penalty and corporal punishment, such as amputation. Sudan has moderate execution rates, ranking 8th overall in 2014 when compared to other countries that still continue the practice, after at least 29 executions were reported (although it is expected that over 100 occurred).
