El battledress ('uniforme de campanya') fou el model d'uniforme de campanya reglamentari de les forces armades britàniques entre 1938 i 1961, aproximadament, imitat subsegüentment per multitud d'altres exèrcits. La seva línia emimentment pràctica i estèticament innovadora (a base de caçadora i pantaló multibutxaca) suposà una autèntica revolució uniformològica d'abast mundial que trencà amb la línia tradicional (a base de guerrera amb pantalons de tipus civil o amb calçons) i posà les bases de l'estil característic dels uniformes de campanya actuals.

De term battledress (Engels) betekent letterlijk gevechtstenue, maar wordt in meer in specifieke zin gebruikt om te verwijzen naar het Britse uniform dat in de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd gedragen door de soldaten van het Britse Gemenebest. Het uniform werd meestal, maar niet uitsluitend, gedragen in gematigde klimaten en was in de eerste plaats ontworpen voor de gemechaniseerde infanterie. It was worn mostly but not exclusively in temperate climates. In some armies it continued in use into the 1970s. During the Second World War and thereafter this uniform was also used for formal parades (including mounting the guard at Buckingham Palace) until the re-introduction of separate parade uniforms in the late 1950s.

De coupe sobre et pratique, se composant d'un blouson et d'un pantalon doté de poches de cuisse avec de courtes guêtres enserrant les chevilles, il inspirera de nombreuses copies de par le monde dans l'immédiat après guerre, tant comme tenue de service ou de sortie que comme uniforme de combat. On notera à titre anecdotique que les battle dress de fabrication canadienne étaient d'une nuance plus olivâtre que leurs équivalents kaki britanniques et que la RAF en avait adopté une version bleu aviateur.
