Austropop ist eine seit Ende der 1960er Jahre geläufige Bezeichnung für Popmusik aus Österreich. Zu den bekanntesten Vertretern des Austropop zählen Falco, Wolfgang Ambros, Georg Danzer, Rainhard Fendrich, die E.A.V., S.T.S., Ludwig Hirsch, Peter Cornelius und Opus.

Austropop je hudební směr, který vznikl v Rakousku zhruba od poloviny 60. let 20. století. Nejedná se přitom ani tak o specifický hudební styl, jako o označení původu. Pod tímto souhrnným pojmem se scházejí hudebníci různých žánrů od rocku až po . Dochází k částečnému překrývání s pojmy nová lidová hudba (neue Volksmusik) nebo (Alpenrock). Obvykle se k austropopu nepočítá zejména lidový šlágr. Typické pro austropop je užívání místních rakouských nářečí němčiny. Za dobový předvoj austropopu lze označit zpěváky jako např. Udo Jürgens nebo Peter Alexander, kteří ovšem užívali prakticky výlučně spisovnou němčinu a také obzvlášť u Petera Alexandera jejich tvorba směřuje spíš do oblasti šlágru, pročež do austropopu nebývají zařazováni; Udo Jürgens navíc již desetiletí žije a působí mimo Rakousk

The movement is believed to have started in 1971 by Wolfgang Ambros with his song "", although this is debated. Ambros became famous, however, by translating songs by Bob Dylan into Austrian German, the most famous of which is "Naa, i bins ned", the translation of Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe". Austropop is still broadcast by various FM radio and TV stations throughout Austria and Bavaria, where they even have special nights replaying Austropop concerts.
