They were members of the South Division of the Big 12 Conference. The Aggies finished the season 9–4, 6–2 in Big 12 play and were South Division champions with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. They were invited to the Cotton Bowl Classic where they were defeated by LSU, 24–41.
