Winston Osler Backus (October 12, 1920 – June 15, 2020) was a Canadian politician. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1971 to 1979, and he served as Minister of Public Works in the cabinet of Premier Peter Lougheed from 1971 to 1975. The son of Percy Lavern and Verna Henrietta Backus, he was born in Eckville, Alberta in 1920. He died in June 2020 at the age of 99. rdf:langString
