Es ist ausschließlich weltliche Musik von ihm erhalten. Seine Werke sind im Fitzwilliam Virginal Book (FWVB) – unter anderem mit dem sehr chromatischen Stück Mrs Katherin Tregians Paven – und im (JBVB) enthalten. Two William Tisdales have been found in London at the turn of the 17th century: one died in 1603 and the other in 1605. All Tisdale's known music is represented by five pieces in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book and two pieces in the so-called which was bound for the English composer John Bull.

William Tisdale bzw. Tisdall (geboren um 1570) war ein Komponist, der der englischen Virginalistenschule angehörte und im späten 16. Jahrhundert aktiv war. Es ist ausschließlich weltliche Musik von ihm erhalten. Seine Werke sind im Fitzwilliam Virginal Book (FWVB) – unter anderem mit dem sehr chromatischen Stück Mrs Katherin Tregians Paven – und im (JBVB) enthalten. In dem von Alan Brown herausgegebenen Tisdale’s Virginal Book finden sich 21 Stücke von William Byrd, John Dowland und anderen, transkribiert und editiert aus dem sogenannten 'John Bull' Ms. im Fitzwilliam-Museum, Cambridge, wahrscheinlich von der Hand von William Tisdale um 1600. Tisdale appears to have known the Tregians, a recusant family from Cornwall. The Fitzwilliam Virginal Book includes his rich chromatic piece, Mrs Katherin Tregians Paven, possibly written on the death of Francis Tregian the Elder's mother, Katherine Arundell. This link is one of the reasons why Francis Tregian the Younger has been suggested as the compiler of the anthology.
