Virginia Berridge, FRHistS, HonFRCP, FAcSS (born 1946) is a British academic historian and public health expert. Berridge has a first degree and a PhD in history, both from the University of London, and is a Professor of History and Director of the Centre for History in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She worked in the Addiction Research Unit of the Institute of Psychiatry from 1974 to 1979 and at the Economic and Social Research Council from 1986–1987. From 1979 to 88 she was at the Institute of Historical Research, University of London.
