Velveton oder auch unechter Samt ist ein kräftiges, atlasbindiges Gewebe aus Baumwolle. Durch Aufrauen erhält es eine samtartige Oberfläche. Verwendet wird das Gewebe für wildlederähnliche Oberbekleidung wie Hosen und Jacken. Verwendet werden Baumwollzwirne in der Kette und Baumwollgarn im Schuss. Aufgrund der hohen Schussfadenzahl (bis zu 60 Fäden pro Zentimeter) besitzt das Gewebe eine sehr gute mechanische Festigkeit.
