Die Trench Railways, wörtlich als (Schützen)graben(feld)bahn übersetzt, waren die Militär(feld)eisenbahnen im Grabenkrieg, im Speziellen das ausgedehnte Schienennetz zur und an der Westfront der Entente und deren verbündete Mächte (Alliierten) im Ersten Weltkrieg basierend auf Feldbahnen mit einer Spurweite von 600 mm.

Le système Péchot, du nom du colonel Prosper Péchot de l'armée de terre française qui fut à son origine, est un ensemble de voies ferrées et de matériel roulant de campagne. L'ingénieur Charles Bourdon étudia la locomotive et de nombreux aspects techniques. Mis au point en collaboration avec la société Decauville en 1888, il fut très largement utilisé lors de la Première Guerre mondiale. Certains aspects en furent repris lors de l'établissement de la Ligne Maginot.

Trench railways represented military adaptation of early 20th-century railway technology to the problem of keeping soldiers supplied during the static trench warfare phase of World War I. The large concentrations of soldiers and artillery at the front lines required delivery of enormous quantities of food, ammunition and fortification construction materials where transport facilities had been destroyed. Reconstruction of conventional roads (at that time rarely surfaced) and railways was too slow, and fixed facilities were attractive targets for enemy artillery. Trench railways linked the front with standard gauge railway facilities beyond the range of enemy artillery. Empty cars often carried litters returning wounded from the front.
