Officially announced on 21 June 2011, the show follows a similar format with the British version and season 1 included 3 presenters: singer and professional driver Kim Jin-pyo (김진표), actor Yeon Jung-hoon (연정훈), and actor Kim Kap-soo (김갑수). It premiered on cable channel XTM on 20 August 2011.

《탑 기어 코리아》(Top Gear Korea)는 XTM에서 방영한 대한민국의 텔레비전 프로그램이다. 첫 번째 시즌은 2011년 8월 20일 토요일 오후 10시부터 케이블 채널인 XTM에서 12월 3일까지 방송하였다. 오리지널 탑 기어의 기본 뼈대를 유지하면서 국내 사정에 맞는 진행방식을 채택하고, 메인 MC는 김갑수, 김진표, 연정훈이 맡았다. 원작에 비해 떨어지는 스케일과 진행방식 등이 지적받긴 하였지만, 세계적으로 유명한 자동차 버라이어티 쇼인 탑 기어를 국내 버전으로 각색하여 방송하였다는 점이 높게 평가되었다. 두 번째 시즌은 2012년 4월 8일부터 6월 17일까지 방영되었다. 시즌 1과는 다르게 메인 MC였던 김갑수가 하차하고, 연예인 레이서로 유명한 조민기가 새롭게 합류, 이전 시즌에 비해 재미있고 거대한 스케일의 실험과 도전을 시도하여 호평을 받았다. 세 번째 시즌은 2012년 10월 7일부터 2012년 12월 16일까지 방영되었다. 시즌 2의 MC였던 조민기가 하차하고 박준규가 새로운 MC로 합류하였다.

The show uses a circuit in Ansan city, which is not used for racing but just for tests and social events, as the main test facility and the Power Lap Time. It was built for a Champ Car event that was cancelled less than three weeks before it was to have been held. Korea International Circuit, the venue of the Korean Grand Prix and Taebaek Racing Park are used for some episodes.
