rdf:langString Steven Mitchell Glazer (born August 10, 1957) is an American politician and former political advisor serving as a member of the California State Senate from the 7th Senate District, which includes most of Contra Costa County and eastern portions of Alameda County in the East Bay. Glazer was appointed by Jerry Brown in 2011 to serve as a member of the California State University Board of Trustees until 2015, when he was elected to the State Senate. Glazer was also Brown's lead political strategist. Glazer first worked for Brown in 1978, when he was in charge of the campaign activities at 20 colleges for Brown's re-election as Governor. Glazer served as deputy campaign manager for Brown's unsuccessful bid for the United States Senate in 1982.
