The current rector is the Archpriest Mark Shinn. It is located at 5th Street & Fairmount Avenue. Adjacent to the church stands a small museum with photos, names and uniforms of the sailors who participated in the building of the church and also photos of their two ships which were both sunk by the Japanese during the war.

La Catedral de San Andrés (en inglés: St. Andrew's Cathedral) es una catedral ortodoxa rusa en Filadelfia, Estados Unidos. Establecida en 1897, es la iglesia cristiana ortodoxa más antigua de Filadelfia . El actual rector es el Arcipreste Mark Shinn. Se encuentra ubicada en la calle 5 y la avenida de Fairmount. La iglesia fue construida por los miembros de la Armada de Rusia que estaban esperando la finalización de dos buques de guerra rusos que se estaban construyendo en el astillero de Cramp para su uso en la guerra Ruso Japonesa, el Variag y Retvizan. La razón de la construcción fue que los marineros no tenían una iglesia ortodoxa rusa para asistir en Filadelfia y también deseaban dejar un lugar de culto para los ortodoxos rusos locales . La tierra y todos los materiales y mano de obra fueron donados por los marineros y la construcción se completó en 1897.

The current rector is the Archpriest Mark Shinn. It is located at 5th Street & Fairmount Avenue. The church was built by members of the Russian Navy who were awaiting completion of two Russian warships which were being built at Cramp's Shipyard for use in the Russo Japanese War, the Variag and Retvizan. The reason for the construction was that the sailors had no Russian Orthodox church to attend in Philadelphia and also wished to leave a place of worship for local Russian Orthodox people. The land and all materials and labor were donated by the sailors and construction was completed in 1897. Adjacent to the church stands a small museum with photos, names and uniforms of the sailors who participated in the building of the church and also photos of their two ships which were both sunk by the Japanese during the war.
