Shirley Palmer (born January 26, 1943) is a former Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, who represented the 4th district. She served from 2007 - 2011. Palmer ran for re-election in 2010, but was defeated by Republican Marty Read. Palmer has undergraduate and master's degrees in education from Pittsburg State University. Prior to being elected, she served as a teacher in Kansas for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2005.

Palmer ran for re-election in 2010, but was defeated by Republican Marty Read. Palmer has undergraduate and master's degrees in education from Pittsburg State University. Prior to being elected, she served as a teacher in Kansas for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2005. She has also served as the National President of Pittsburg State University Alumni Association and has been married to her husband Ron for 45 years. They have two sons and two grandchildren.
