The Scrameustache is a fictional character in a science-fiction Franco-Belgian comics series of the same name. He was created by the Belgian artist . Gos has written and drawn all the Scrameustache's adventures since 1972. Since the mid-1980s he has been assisted by his son . Another son, has contributed as colourist. Le Scrameustache est une série de bande dessinée créée par Gos, rejoint par son fils Walt à partir du douzième album (à l'encrage pour commencer) même si seul Gos reste crédité pour celui-ci. C'est aussi le nom du personnage principal de la série. La série, initialement intitulée Khéna et le Scrameustache, a été créée en 1972 dans le Journal de Spirou. Le premier album, L'Héritier de l'Inca, est paru en 1973. La série est rebaptisée Le Scrameustache en 1979, lors de la parution du 7e album. À partir du 35e album, sorti en 2005, la série quitte les éditions Dupuis pour être éditée chez Glénat. Les albums précédents ont été réédités chez Glénat par la suite avec un nouveau logo de couverture. Visant essentiellement un public jeune, la série mêle aventures terrestres, extraterrestres et voyages dans le temps avec un ton sympathique et souvent humoristique. Depuis le 15 novembre 2008, une fresque de 50 m² réalisée numériquement peut être admirée chaussée de Wavre, 1314 à 1160 Bruxelles chez Déco Ligot. Cette fresque fit partie du Parcours BD de Bruxelles 2009, année de la bande dessinée.
