Die Ordensgemeinschaft der Benediktiner ließ die Kirche nach Plänen von Hildebrand de Hemptinne und Francesco Vespignani in den Jahren 1892 bis 1896 errichten. Am 11. November 1900 fand die Weihe durch Kardinalstaatssekretär Mariano Rampolla del Tindaro statt. De Sant'Anselmo all'Aventino is een kerk in Rome, gelegen in de , aan het piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta. De kerk is gelegen op de Aventijn en is gewijd aan de heilige, bisschop en kerkleraar Sint Anselmus. De kerk is verbonden aan het naastgelegen benedictijner klooster waar zich tevens het generalaat van de orde bevindt.
