Sandbagger [ˈsænd bægger] ist eine angloamerikanische Bezeichnung für einen Segelbootstyp, der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts an der US-amerikanischen Ostküste aus kleinen Arbeitsbooten entstand. Die Bezeichnung stammt von den Sandsäcken (sandbags), die als beweglicher Ballast benutzt wurden. Genutzt wurden die Sandbagger auch bei Rennen, schon bevor sie nur zu diesem Zweck gebaut wurden.

The vessels could be anywhere from 20' to 30' feet in length, but with a sail area disproportionate to their size. They were crewed by between 10 and 15 men. An excellent example of a sandbagger is the sloop Annie, which is maintained by the Mystic Seaport maritime museum.
