rdf:langString Rohitha Rajapaksa (born 15 June 1989) is a Sri Lankan a well-known sportsman, celebrity, media face, pilot, engineer, musician and social media star and the youngest son of Sri Lanka's former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. He has two elder brothers – Namal and Yoshitha. He was a member of the Sri Lanka Navy Rugby team and has won a lot of tournaments. He attended S Thomas college in Mt.Lavinia, and completed his bachelors degree in Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering. Later his Masters in Engineering in Space System Engineering from from University of Southampton. He obtained a M.Phil in Mathematical Optimization of Space Debris Mitigation and Strategy Analysis From the University of Colombo. He made his List A cricket debut on 27 October 2021, for Kalutara Town Club in the 2021–22 Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament. Rohitha is married to Tatyana Lee Jayaratne, who was his long term girlfriend. They tied the knot in 2019. The wedding was held at Weeraketiya and was attended by various politicians and celebrities. The couple parents of two children. The name of their elder son is Nirvan Rajapaksa the daughter is Avyay Rajapaksa. Rohitha Rajapaksa was questioned by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) over Supreme SAT 1 which was promoted as Sri Lanka's first communication satellite. Supreme SAT 1 was reported to have been launched in 2012 from the ‘Xi Chang’ launch centre in China. However, it's being said that a satellite was never sent to orbit. Supreme Sat Pvt Ltd. had claimed to have invested Rs. 18 billion for the launching of the satellite, but the Government said no such investment had been made, adding that this company had no expertise in satellite technology either.
