rdf:langString Reid Bryce Smith (May 8, 1949 – October 16, 2001) was an American film and television actor. Born in Burbank, California, the son of June, a secretary for actress, Maud Adams and Verne Smith, a model and announcer. He had three sisters. At the age of five, Smith's father left for which he then worked to support his family. At the age of six, he made an appearance to his first television advertisement. Smith decided to become a gangster for which he was then arrested after trying to steal a tire, at the age of 15. He attended at Notre Dame High School. Smith later attended at University of California, where he earned his bachelor degree based on drama. Smith worked as a businessperson, in which he tried to earned his degree based on business. He also was a car dealer. Smith began his film and television career in 1970, first appearing in the film Blood Mania. He then starred in the film Dinah East, where he played the role of Jeff East. In 1973, Smith starred in the new NBC crime drama television series Chase, where he played the role of Officer Norm Hamilton. He won the role after reading at least one line from the script for which Smith was then hired by Jack Webb. After the series ended in 1974, he guest-starred in television programs including Columbo, Mork & Mindy, The Six Million Dollar Man, Riptide, The Dukes of Hazzard, Knots Landing, Remington Steele, Dynasty and Bonanza. In 1980, Smith co-starred in the new CBS western miniseries The Chisholms, where he played the role of Lester Hackett. He also appeared in films such as playing the role of Sheriff Peterson in the 1985 film Into the Night. His final credit was from the 1994 film The Killing Jar, where he played the role of Alan Armstrong. Smith also raised two horses for which he hoped to ride them in a competition with participating.
