Im Pistol River leben Populationen von Königslachs, Silberlachs, Regenbogenforelle und Cutthroatforelle. Der Fluss verläuft weitgehend durch Waldgebiete, in denen die Holzfällerei das Habitat der Fische beschädigt hat. Deswegen wird daran gearbeitet, das Habitat wiederherzustellen.
