In 1990 he sang the rap part on the England national football team & New Order collaboration ‘’World in Motion’’ prior to the 1990 FIFA World Cup. This proved highly controversial as John Barnes gained the credit for the vocals on the track. It later transpired (Milli Vanilli style) that Barnes had allegedly been miming on the track and video. Subsequently Hawksbee co-founded the weekly football magazine 90 Minutes with Clive Mendonca.
