Nova24TV was founded by members and supporters of the Slovenian Democratic Party. Nova24TV had also obtained over €120.000 of various public funds by the first half of 2020. Nova24TV has been financially backed by Hungarian businessmen close to the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán. The current editor-in-chief of Nova24TV is Marko Puš, with Boris Tomašič serving as director. Past editors-in-chief have included Uroš Urbanija, Miro Petek, Jože Biščak, and Boris Tomašič.
