Guerra also played Cuban Winter League baseball for two decades, 1934–55. He was listed as 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall and 155 pounds (70 kg), and threw and batted right-handed. Guerra died in Miami Beach, Florida, two days before his 80th birthday.
