Le Toronto Métropolitain était une municipalité supralocale de gouvernance territoriale dans la région de Toronto, entre 1954 et 1998. La municipalité fut créée à même le et fut un précurseur dans la création des municipalités régionales. Elle regroupait les anciennes municipalités qui fusionnèrent en 1998 pour former la ville actuelle de Toronto. The boundaries of present-day Toronto are the same as those of Metropolitan Toronto upon its dissolution: Lake Ontario to the south, Etobicoke Creek and directly north to the west, Steeles Avenue to the north, and a point south to the Rouge River, then following the Rouge to Lake Ontario, to the east.
