Η Ιερά Μητρόπολις Νικομηδείας ήταν μια επαρχία (Μητρόπολη) του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου Κωνσταντινουπόλεως στη βορειοδυτική Μικρά Ασία, στην σημερινή Τουρκία. Ο Χριστιανισμός εξαπλώθηκε στη Νικομήδεια ήδη από τον 1ο αιώνα μ.Χ. Μετά την κατάληψη της πόλης από τους Οθωμανούς Τούρκους στις αρχές του 14ου αιώνα, η έδρα παρέμεινε για μια περίοδο κενή. Η Μητρόπολη αποκαταστάθηκε κατά τον 15ο αιώνα και παρέμεινε ενεργή μέχρι την ελληνοτουρκική ανταλλαγή πληθυσμών του 1922-1923.

Su sede estaba en Nicomedia (la actual İzmit) en Turquía. Su titular lleva el título de metropolitano de Nicomedia, el más honorable ('hipertimos') y exarca de toda Bitinia (en griego, Ο Νικομηδείας υπέρτιμος και έξαρχος πάσης Βιθυνίας). Es una antigua sede metropolitana de la provincia romana de Bitinia en la diócesis civil del Ponto y en el patriarcado de Constantinopla.

The Metropolis of Nicomedia (Greek: Μητρόπολις Νικομηδείας) was an ecclesiastical territory (metropolis) of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in northwestern Asia Minor, modern Turkey. Christianity spread in Nicomedia already in the 1st century AD. Following the capture of the city by the Ottoman Turks in the early 14th century, the metropolitan see remained for a period vacant. The metropolis was re-established during the 15th century and remained active until the Greek-Turkish population exchange of 1922–1923.
