Lacordaire Academy has been accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1951. The school is a member of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools and is located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. As of the 2017–18 school year, the school had an enrollment of 227 students (plus 10 in PreK) and 34 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 6.7:1. The school's student body was 50.7% (115) White, 22.9% (52) Black, 4.8% (11) Asian, 10.6% (24) Hispanic and 11% (25) two or more races.
