John Mary Joseph Benedict Chanche, S.S., (October 4, 1795 – July 22, 1852) was the first Roman Catholic Bishop of Natchez (and of Mississippi) from 1841 to 1852. Educated at St. Mary's College in Baltimore, Maryland, he became a Sulpician and eventually President of the college. rdf:langString
