John C. Nickerson Jr. (November 18, 1915 – March 1, 1964) was a colonel in the United States Army and a Redstone Arsenal employee. He fought in World War II and then became involved in the Army Ballistic Missile Agency. In 1957, Nickerson became the first American to be charged under the Espionage Act after leaking classified national security information to the press during a dispute about missile programs.
