rdf:langString Johann Vera (born December 4, 1995), is a bilingual Ecuadorian singer and actor. A singer who got started as a singer at the age of 9 on the 2007 RCN show "The X-Factor" Colombian Edition and later on the 2015 Univision show "La Banda", were he became part of the finalists group on both instances. In August 2016, he released his first independent single and music video, "Pretty Girl (Tu Canción)". A bilingual single, with a combined upbeat latin pop rhythm and Reggaeton. The video was mostly recorden in Los Angeles. In 2016, he also released his single "Tíralo" and the video was recorded in Bogota, Colombia. In 2017, he released another single "Vuelo a París", a large part of which he composed and dedicated to an ex, a la Taylor Swift. The video was recorded in New York. On the same year he released "Ojo por Ojo" on his birthday. In 2018 he released the song "Nervioso" with adjacent video recorded in Japan and released "Astronauta" with the respective video recorded in Nevada and California. In 2019 he followed up with "Ahogando" which was composed, directed and produced by Vera himself. The video was made in Guayaquil, Ecuador with amazing shots in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. It has the participation of model Nathaly Quiñonez and actress, Michela Pincay. On February 13, 2020 he released "Perdon" song written & composed by him after his performance at the largest Latin American Music Festival in the world the 2020 Viña del Mar Music Festival were he won the "Gaviota de Plata" (Silver Seagull) award. On the same year he released the song: "En Donde Estan" with a video recorded in Colombia. Johann Vera openly rejects working with strict record labels and currently remains a struggling independent artist. After a few appearances on many TV shows as an invited guest, along his singing career, he was invited to be one of the guest actors of the popular Colombian soap-opera "Enfermeras" in 2021. During 2021, he was also included to play the character "Nero" on Nickelodeon's Series "Club 57".
