Joel Sherzer (Filadèlfia, 18 de març de 1942 - Austin, 6 de novembre de 2022) fou un lingüista antropològic nord-americà conegut per les seves investigacions sobre el poble guna de Panamà i es va centrar en l'art verbal i enfocaments centrats en el discurs de la investigació lingüística. Joel Fred Sherzer (March 18, 1942 – November 6, 2022) was an American anthropological linguist known for his research with the Guna people of Panama and his focus on verbal art and discourse-centered approaches to linguistic research. He co-founded the Archive of the Indigenous Languages of Latin America.
