The Intendancy of San Salvador (Spanish: Intendencia de San Salvador) was an administrative division of the Captaincy General of Guatemala, itself an administrative division of the Viceroyalty of New Spain which was a part of the Spanish Empire. The intendancy was formed in 1785 as a part of the Bourbon Reforms and was formed along with the intendancies of , , and . rdf:langString La Intendencia de San Salvador, fue una división administrativa del Imperio español, creada por Real Cédula el 17 de septiembre de 1785 dentro de la Capitanía General de Guatemala, tras las Reformas borbónicas en el siglo xviii, sustituyendo a la anterior Alcaldía Mayor de San Salvador y comprendiendo casi la mayor parte del territorio actual de El Salvador.​ Está intendencia existió hasta 1821 cuando tras el restablecimiento de la constitución de Cádiz en el Imperio Español se la elevó al rango de provincia, durante su existencia sus autoridades hicieron frente a dos principales movimientos independentistas acaecidos en 1811 y 1814 respectivamente.​
