Hugh Synge (4 August 1951 - 4 August 2018) was an English botanist of Anglo-Irish descent who was a champion of endangered plants and a key figure in the magazine Plant Talk. He also wrote the Threatened Plants newsletter from Kew Gardens where he was employed. He was influenced by Ronald Melville.
