ヒルフィギュア（英語: hill figure）とはイギリスの石灰岩の丘陵地帯に画かれた地上絵である。英語では"chalk figure"、"hillfigure"、"chalk carving"、"chalk horse"、"white horse"など様々に呼ばれる。日本語ではヒルフィガー、丘絵、丘陵像、ホワイトホースとも訳される。上空からではなく、向かいあった斜面や遠方など地上から見ることを意識して作られている。有名なヒルフィギュアに「アフィントンの白馬」「サーン・アバスの巨人」「ウィルミントンのロングマン」などがある。

A hill figure is a large visual representation created by cutting into a steep hillside and revealing the underlying geology. It is a type of geoglyph usually designed to be seen from afar rather than above. In some cases trenches are dug and rubble made from material brighter than the natural bedrock is placed into them. The new material is often chalk, a soft and white form of limestone, leading to the alternative name of chalk figure for this form of art.

Es, pues, un tipo de geoglifo (enorme dibujo que comprende una amplia extensión de terreno natural), en este caso grabado, y diseñado para ser visto desde una posición superior. Una figura de colina (hill figure) es una gran representación visual elaborada mediante la realización de zanjas en una ladera cubierta de hierba, de modo que la geología subyacente queda al descubierto. Es, pues, un tipo de geoglifo (enorme dibujo que comprende una amplia extensión de terreno natural), en este caso grabado, y diseñado para ser visto desde una posición superior. En ocasiones, como en el caso del Caballo Blanco de Uffington, las zanjas se rellenan con un material de color más claro, normalmente creta (tiza), haciendo que la figura destaque con mayor intensidad. Las figuras de colina, realizadas en el pasado o en la actualidad, son características de Inglaterra y abundan en su territorio: el ya mencionado Caballo Blanco (la más antigua, y seguramente inspiradora de muchas figuras posteriores), las siluetas humanas de Cerne Abbas y Wilmington, otros grabados antiguos ya inexistentes o en vías de desaparecer, diversas insignias de unidades militares, obras de aficionados o incluso reclamos publicitarios. Aunque no son propiamente figuras de colina, cabe mencionar también (como fenómeno contemporáneo relacionado y también típico de Inglaterra) a los cropcircles o círculos de los cereales, interpretados por estudiosos de los fenómenos paranormales como supuestos mensajes extraterrestres y que en realidad eran obra de bromistas.

Hill figures cut in grass are a phenomenon especially seen in England, where examples include the Cerne Abbas Giant, the Uffington White Horse, and the Long Man of Wilmington, as well as the "lost" carvings at Cambridge, Oxford and Plymouth Hoe. From the 18th century onwards, many further ones were added. Many figures long thought to be ancient have been found to be relatively recent when subjected to modern archaeological scrutiny, at least in their current form. Only the Uffington White Horse appears to retain a prehistoric shape, while the Cerne Abbas Giant may be prehistoric, Romano-British, or Early Modern. Nevertheless, these figures, and their possible lost companions, have been iconic in the English people's conception of their past.
