HERACLES (acronyme de Human Enhanced Robotic Architecture Capability for Lunar Exploration and Science) est un projet de mission spatiale étudié par l'Agence spatiale européenne avec l'Agence spatiale japonaise (JAXA) et l'Agence spatiale canadienne comprenant l'envoi d'un rover lourd à la surface de la Lune et permettant le retour d'échantillons de sol lunaire sur Terre. La mission s'appuiera sur la station spatiale lunaire développée à l'initiative de la NASA. La décision de développer la mission doit être prise en 2019 par le conseil des ministres européens.

The lander can be configured for different operations such as up to 1.5 tons of cargo delivery, sample-returns, or prospecting resources found on the Moon. The system is planned to support the Artemis program and perform lunar exploration using the Lunar Gateway space station as a staging point.
