Gilbert Erwin Steinke (May 3, 1919 – May 10, 1995) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach of at Texas A&I University—now known as Texas A&M University–Kingsville—from 1954 to 1976 after having played at Texas A&I and then professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles. Steinke led the Texas A&I Javelinas to six NAIA Football National Championships, in 1959, 1969, 1970, 1974, 1975, and 1976.
