George William Blunt (11 Mar 1802 – 19 Apr 1878) was a pioneer publisher of nautical charts and books for the company, E & G. W. Blunt. He was Secretary of the Board of Pilot Commissioners for the New York harbor from 1845 to 1877). For over 40 years he served as first assistant in the United States Coast Survey and made surveys of the New York harbor and the Bahama banks.
