Fred Okengo Matiang'i is a former Kenyan Cabinet Secretary. He served as the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government in Kenya. Matiang'i had served as the Eastern Africa regional representative for the Centre for International Development, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, the State University of New York before being nominated as the Cabinet Secretary for Information Communication and Technology on 23 April 2013. He formerly taught at Egerton University and the University of Nairobi. On 24 November 2015, President Uhuru Kenyatta, in a cabinet reshuffle, appointed him as the cabinet secretary for Education.
