rdf:langString Erik Hellsborn (born 1984) is a Swedish politician affiliated with the Sweden Democrats. He was elected as Member of the Riksdag in September 2022 representing the Halland County constituency. He represents the constituency of Halland County. Hellsborn is also a councilor and a local executive for the SD in Varberg. In 2011, he became the source of some controversy when he published a blog commenting on the 2011 Norway attacks in which he argued "Islamisation" and "mass immigration" were responsible. The blog drew criticism after being interpreted as a defense of Anders Behring Breivik and prompted SD politicians such as Björn Söder to distance themselves from Hellsborn's comments. In a subsequent interview with Aftonbladet Hellsborn argued that Breivik should be prosecuted and that his writing had not been intended to absolve his actions but to point out where he believed multiculturalism in Europe had caused divisions and violence between different ethnic groups which created the situation for the Norway attacks to happen.
