Die Dunbar war eine Dreimast-Blackwall-Fregatte, die in den 1850ern für den britischen Schiffseigner Duncan Dunbar Passagiere und Fracht von Großbritannien nach Australien brachte und dabei hauptsächlich Auswanderer beförderte. Am 20. August 1857 kam es am Eingang zum Hafen von Sydney an Bord der Dunbar bei heftigen Winden und starkem Regenfall zu einer navigatorischen Fehleinschätzung, sodass das Schiff in Ufernähe auf Felsen prallte und zerschellte. The Dunbar was wrecked near the entrance to Sydney Harbour, Australia in 1857 with the loss of 121 lives. The location of the wreck is now a heritage site, at Watsons Bay in the Municipality of Woollahra local government area of New South Wales, Australia. An anchor from the Dunbar, a memorial and remains of the 121 onboard are located within Camperdown memorial cemetery, NSW. The property is owned by the Land and Property Management Authority, an agency of the Government of New South Wales and Woollahra Municipal Council. The site was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 17 October 2003. The Australian Maritime Museum holds the John Gillies Collection of artefacts from the Dunbar wreck.
